The Good News has never received proper “coverage”. It is very often muted and conditional good news; it is often good news for some but not so good for others; it is often more to do with hype than hope. The Good News that Jesus announced was in fact filled with encouragement and incredible intimacy.

Jesus used wonderful analogies to describe this union we enter into with Him – He is the vine we are the branches. It is a union where we are joined to His life. What is the nature of this life? What are the fruits that become apparent in us by virtue of this life becoming a reality through grace? Nothing could be more relevant to us than knowing true life.

Further as we live in union with Christ, the life of the kingdom of God shines through us to all around us.

As we love our neighbours as ourselves, we become the light of the world-a reflection of Christ in the world. We look forward to Christ’s return, and the day when God’s will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven.
